FC AshantiGold 04 have terminated the appointments of head coach and technical director Abdul Karim Kabutey Zito, assistant coach Ernest Okyere and goalkeeper trainer Robert Dabuo with immediate effect.
The Ghana Premier League club confirmed the decision in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, after its Interim Management Committee met a day earlier.
Zito leaves the club just months after guiding the Miners to promotion to the Ghana Premier League, playing a crucial role in their return to the top flight.
However, AshantiGold’s start to the 2026/27 season has been inconsistent, with the newly promoted side recording three wins and two draws in their opening eight matches.

Despite collecting points in five of those fixtures, the club’s management has opted to change its technical department as the team seeks to strengthen its campaign.
The decision also brings an end to the spells of assistant coach Okyere and goalkeeper trainer Dabuo, who have been relieved of their respective roles.
AshantiGold have confirmed that a caretaker coach will assume responsibility for the team while the club works towards appointing a substantive head coach and technical director.
In its statement, the club thanked the departing members of the technical team for their dedication and contributions, wishing them well in their future endeavours.
