Accra Hearts of Oak captain, Fatawu Mohammed has backed the comments of Coach Edward Odoom in saying that the club aims to win the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) title.
The gaffer has made this huge promise ahead of the upcoming campaign and insists his side is good enough to win the ultimate and will be going for it.
And, he has received the backing of the club captain who said the entire squad is up for it and are working hard towards fulfilling the ambitions of the technical head.
“We welcome the statement by Coach Odoom that Hearts is aiming to win the GPL title at the end of next season, Fatawu told Hearts News promising that this is what is on the minds of the entire playing body.
The club has been preparing for the start of the new season for a month now with Coach Odoom spearheading those preparations before the opening game of the season.
“The preseason has been good so far with all the players showing their willingness to show to the technical team what they can offer next season, and, I am positive that the team will rise to the challenge”, Fatawu said.
“We will need the support of all Hearts of Oak fans in our attempt to end the club’s trophy drought”, he asked, promising that they will give off their very best to make them happy at the end of the season.
Hearts of Oak will begin the 2020-21 Ghana football season with an away encounter against Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro.
The new season is expected to begin on the weekend of November 13 – 15, 2020 with all 18 GPL clubs expected to be in action.
