In drastic response to ghanasportspage.com publication on the fall out between Asante Kotoko Circle 0086 members with the leadership, the National Circles leadership has taken steps to rectify the situation to restore normalcy, and has called on the membership of the group to remain calm.
Members of Circle 86 recently accused the leadership of inactivity, and called on the mother group of the Asante Kotoko supporters wing, the National Circles Council to intervene, sack the leaders and organise fresh elections for the group. Other concerns were on the fact that the procedures followed in electing the current leaders was unconstitutional, and must be declared null and void.
In a rather amicable direction, the First Vice Chairman of the National Circles Council, Nana Kwame Dankwah, has engaged the leadership of Circle ’86 in a virtual meeting to address the issues raised by the concerned members of the Union, and has called on the members to remain calm while the NCC takes the necessary measures put things in place.
In a meeting between Nana Kwame Dankwah and the leadership of Circle ’86 on Sunday evening, the Constitution of the NCC and its requirements regarding elections of Circles leadership. Nana Kwame described the said meeting as “a fruitful one”. In his capacity as the First Vice Chairman of the National Circles Council, he entreated all members to remain calm while the NCC collaborates with the Circle ’86 leaders to bring the situation under control.
“When I heard it, I have engaged the leadership and addressing the concerns with them”, Nana Kwame disclosed, speaking to ghanasportspage.com. We are still on it, it’s not really a major problem, the bottom line is that we want solution to the problem. I can say we are taking steps to resolve the issues. We have had first meeting yesterday (Sunday, August 2, 2020) and it was very fruitful and I drew their attention to what the Constitution (of the NCC) says and copies will be sent to them to study”, he said.
With the issues having caught the attention of the NCC following the earlier publication by ghanasportspage.com, and following the meeting between Nana Kwame and the leadership of Circle ’86, the leadership of the NCC would be briefed by Nana Kwame and the national supporters body will take a major decision that will be in the supreme interest of Asante Kotoko and the supporters at large.
