The drama driven MTN sponsored FA Cup for the 2019/2020 season is set to make a super exciting return with the preliminary round scheduled to kick off from January 24-27.
A total of 18 premier league clubs will compete with 48 division one clubs and 44 division two league clubs for the highly decorated competition which qualifies the winner of the ultimate to the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
The preliminary round will see third tier clubs battle each other in a knock out encounters before the second tier sides and top flight sides join in the next phase.
The grand finale has been scheduled for 26th July, 2020.
Aside the league, the upsets, excitements and passion that characterize the FA Cup matches make it draw lots of interest from clubs, fans and club administrators especially due to the lucrative financial package the competition offers its participants.
The draw for the preliminary round takes place on Tuesday, 14th December, 2020 at the Ghana Football Association conference room in Accra. Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko are the most successful clubs in the competition’s history, winning 19 titles with 10 going to the Phobians.
