The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has congratulated Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew for setting a new record as the highest scoring Ghanaian in the Premier League history.
The Crystal Palace star became Ghana’s highest scoring player in the Premier League after finding the net last Saturday in his side’s 2-0 victory over Bournemouth away from home. The sole strike was Ayew’s 9th goal of the season for the “The Eagles”, and not only did it cement the victory for Palace but also took the name of the former Swansea City striker into the history books.
Ayew’s strike on Saturday takes his overall tally to 25 goals in the English top flight helping him to leapfrog the former Leeds United “King of Thunderbolts” striker, Tony Yeboah with a difference of 1.
The Ghana Football Association has seen the feat worth celebrating and has taken to its official twitter account to congratulate the 28-year old son of the former Ghana international; Abedi Ayew Pele.
