Asante Kotoko Greater Accra Circles chairman and management member Nana Kwame Dankwah has revealed the National supporters leadership of the club is preparing official statement to congratulate the newly appointed Board of Directors of the club.
Owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in a statement signed by Kofi Badu, Chief of Staff of the Manhyia Palace, announced a list of a nine-member Board of Directors of the Porcupine Warriors tasked with several duties to uplift the club to cement its position among the elite football clubs clubs in Africa.
The Board, chaired by current Executive Chairman of the the club His Honour Dr. Kwame Kyei is made of astute personalities across such professions as bankers, football administrators and others, and management member Nana Kwame Dankwah has revealed in advance plans of the management to congratulate the appointees for their “appointment and for accepting to serve on the board”.
“We congratulate them for their appointment, we also congratulate them for accepting to serve on the Board”, Nana Kwame Dankwah told West Gold Radio in Takoradi via a telephone interview. “As I said, the supporters leadership which is the National Circles Council, we will come out soon with a statement to commend them and to congratulate them”, he disclosed.
Nana Kwame further assured of massive support from the supporters wing of the club to be thrown behind the Board and to cooperate with them in every way that will be mutually beneficial.
“We commend them (the Board) and also encourage them that we will support them so that everything they have for Kotoko too, it’s the well being of Kotoko that the supporters seek”, he assured.
Unlike their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, the newly appointed Board of Asante Kotoko has no representation of the supporters (National Circles Council), and many people believe the supporters leadership are unhappy about the move, but have very little to say about a decision taken by Manhyia. The Circles are yet to officially comment on the situation but Nana Kwame has assured of a statement on the way to say congratulations to the new Board members as they hope for considerations going forward.
