In its statement released on Monday, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has firmly reiterated the closure of its offices to staff and the public, despite government’s decision to lift the partial lock down imposed earlier on the Greater Accra, Kasoa and Greater Kumasi municipalities.
This comes after the President of the republic, H. E. Nana Akufo-Addo, in his 7th address to the nation last night, directed that despite the relaxation on movements, all public gatherings, including sporting activities with more than 25 persons in attendance remain banned until further notice.
“The public is hereby informed that the offices of the Ghana Football Association remain closed despite government’s decision to lift the partial lockdown in the Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi and Kasoa environs.
“This is because the government’s directive on public gathering of 25 or more persons is still in force”, a statement on the FA website read.
While advising all football clubs ” to strictly comply with the ban on gathering and sporting activities”, and that “group training is still not allowed until the ban on social gathering is lifted by the state”, the GFA also directed its members; clubs, Regional Football Associations and stakeholders to make ” use of the online systems of the GFA (email, Registration System – FIFA Connect etc) to communicate with the Secretariat”.
