Ghana Premier League greats Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars defender Abdul Ganui Ismael sets to leave Asante Kotoko in October as his contract runs out.
Abdul Ganui Ismael will leave Kotoko at the end of the season. Ghanasportspage.com can exclusively reveal.
The 24-year old contract expires at the end of October with local and international clubs showing interest in the Black Stars defender after 28 productive months with the Ghanaian giants.
Ghanasportspage.com reports further confirm the lack of management’s attempt to contract renewal. And should things progress as reported, Kotoko could lose a key member of their squad in October.
The former league champion has won 4 major trophies since joining Kotoko in 2018-including Normalisation Committee’s tournament, Otumfuor’s Cup, and the President Cup.
Prior to joining Kotoko, the highly-rated defender bagged in two goals in 15 appearances for Karela United in his debut season with three MVP awards- the Ex- Olympic Donetsk defender won the Ghana premier league with Wa All Stars in 2016.
This season, the defender has been a key member of the Kotoko’s side, second on the league log with the least number of goals conceded.
The authority he brings to and inspires in Kotoko’s backline has been the real factor in transforming the team this season.
Ganui, has earned extensive recognition in his recent performances for Black Stars in the AFCON qualifiers as he made his debut against South Africa.
