Asante Kotoko deputy captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi has said Hearts of Oak can ‘never’ beat Kotoko with him on the field.
The Porcupines will play as visitors to the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 27, a game many have labeled as the decider.
Hearts of Oak are on the verge of clinching the domestic league trophy for the first time in 12 years.
The only block in the Phobians’ way is Kotoko who are leveled with the former at the top of the table and are in a pursuit for a first GPL title in almost 8 years.
Therefore, Gyamfi who has 5 goals in his last 6 games is confident that Kotoko will pick the needed victory as he will lead the team.
“What I can say is that, the league has been one of the fantastic leagues I’ve encountered since playing in Ghana here, the points build up are very close and every team wants to clinch the trophy, others too are battling to escape relegation so it has made the Ghanaian league so competitive.”
“Looking at Hearts of Oak, it’s been years they’ve been on top of the league and are trying their possible best to win the title but we wouldn’t allow them because we have a game against them and every is possible,” Gyamfi said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
“I believe in our guys and surely we taking match after match but for that game [against Hearts] never. We wouldn’t allow them to score us because Hearts of Oak haven’t beaten us in the league when I’m playing, never ‘walahi’ because I will try as much as possible to help my boys to snatch the maximum points from them”
“Medeama, Karela and Great Olympics all can win the title and that tells you how competitive this season’s league has been so we are not only looking at the Hearts of Oak game but beyond it, we are taking match after match and we will try to take all the points in every game to put ourselves in a better position to win the trophy”
The game is scheduled at 3PM kickoff time.
