L’Équipe report this afternoon that Real Betis are looking at RC Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku, but the La Liga side must sell first before making any moves this summer.
The 26-year-old has been on the Andalusian club’s radar for the last year and has been identified as an ideal replacement for Algeria international Aïssa Mandi, who left Sevilla this summer to join Villareal on a free transfer.
L’Équipe adds that Rennes are also interested in the centre-back, who has impressed this season with the Alsatians. Djiku’s contract expires in 2023, meaning Betis would need to raise funds through the expected sales of the likes of Sidnei, Loren, Cristian Tello and Juanmi in order to complete a transfer.
Djiku, a Ghana international since 2020, has been at the heart of Strasbourg’s defence for the past two seasons, since joining from Caen.
