Real Tamale United (RTU) have officially announced the signing of highly regarded central midfielder David Sandan Abagna.
The 23-year-old becomes the first major and permanent signing by the Ghana Premier League returnees ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Abagna joins from AshantiGold with whom RTU struck a GH¢100,000 transfer fees on Thursday, Ghanasportspage.com understands.
Per the agreement sealed, the Northern Blues made a 70% up-front payment to secure the player’s rights and are scheduled to pay up the remainder before the second round of the season.
AshantiGold will be entitled to a 25% onward fee from any future sale of Abagna.
David Abagna- who joined the Miners in July 2019 – scored 9 goals and provided 5 assists in 30 Ghana Premier League matches last season. He also netted twice in the MTN FA Cup.
RTU are also on the verge of completing the loan signing of another attacking midfielder Manaf Umar from Hearts of Oak. Despite agreeing to farm him out, the Phobians want to extend the contract of the youngster before signing the loan papers.
