Hasacass Ladies are making history for Ghana after going unbeaten in their group stage matches in the maiden edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt.
Despite sharing the spoil with Egyptian side Wadi Degla in Egypt the Ghanaian side have qualified for the semi-final of the competition.
In their group opener, they vanquished Malabo Kings by 3 – 1 before beating AS Mande of Mali by 3 goals to none.
Wadi Degla had an early goal in the first half courtesy Jasmine Theresa on the 9th minute to give them the lead before Faustina Nyame’s equalizer for Hasacass on the 21st minute.
The Egyptian side retook the lead exactly five minutes after the equalizer in the 26th minute with a goal from Noha Mamdouh to land the first half 2-1 in favour of Wedi Degla.
Hasacass Ladies rectified their mistakes to return back strongly into the second period with a fabulous performance which gave them the leveller in the 49th minute in the second half through Veronica Appiah.
Both teams staged a strong defense after the scoreline has turned 2-2 and kept their goal post closed.
The scoreline remained the same until the fourth whistle of the game was blown.
The Ghanaian Queens have made it through to the semi-final of the maiden edition of the said competition and will hope to return with a great a achievement.
Wadi Degla have gracefully says farewell to the league as they draw 2-2 with Hasaacas Ladies.
