Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is reportedly on the verge of joining the defending champions of the GPL, Hearts of Oak.
The former Udinese midfield gem is currently without a club and is set to join the Phobians on a free transfer. Ghanasportspage.com understand.
The 31-year-old has expressed interest in returning to the local scene before he retires.
The GPL giants recently signed Ex-Inter Milan and AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari on a year deal.
The former Berekum Arsenal and Asante Kotoko player, joined Hellas Verona on a two-year deal from Udinese after playing for the Udine-based club for 10 years and playing in 193 matches in all competitions, scoring 10 times and making 11 assists. He was not included in Verona’s 2020–21 Serie A squad. On 2 January 2021, he announced that he terminated his Verona contract and retired from playing but he later joined Chinese top-flight league outfit Qingdao FC on a year deal.
Agyemang Badu has earned 78 caps for the Ghana national team and scored 11 goals. He was part of the team that won the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt alongside Andre Ayew.
