The management of Accra Hearts of Oak have lodged a formal complaint to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to investigate the performance of the referee Kenney Padi during the team’s 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko in a week a 24 of the GPL on Sunday.
Referee Padi was at the centre of controversy when he awarded a dubious penalty to Asante Kotoko in the first half which Frank Etouga Mbella converted to snatch victory for the Porcupines.
The penalty was awarded when Fabio Gama, the Reds midfielder went down in the box of the Phobians after a minimal contact from a defender of the visitors.
A letter released this morning has confirmed that the management of the reigning champions of the GPL have lodged an official complaint to the GFA against the referee.
