Asante Kotoko forward Andy Kumi has unreservedly debunked reports of him pushing for a move away from the club on the grounds of lacking playing time.

News of the 23-year old’s desire to leave the league leaders circulated widely in the local press on Wednesday, citing lack of minutes as the reason behind his decision. The development brought doubts to many followers of the club, giving that Kumi has been in the treatment room since the commencement of the 2021/22 premier league season, and is now making gradual recovery.

The player is shocked at the publications, and has come out to pour cold water on the rumors probably before it eats into the minds of the numerous fans of the club.

“I want my fans and the fabulous family to debunk on this news. I’m really happy at ⁦@AsanteKotoko_SC⁩ and will forever love this family.Despite everything, will continue to work hard as I’m back from injury”, Kumi wrote on Twitter.

Having joined Asante Kotoko in them middle of last season from Unistar Academy under the then Portuguese coach Mariano Barreto, Kumi hit the grounds running for the Porcupine Warriors, scoring six goals for the club before the season ended. However, injury has forced him out of action for the club this season, and is still on road to full recovery.
