The bankroller of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has handed an extra commendation to the Porcupine Warriors in their push to win the GPL and represent Ghana in the next season’s CAF Champions League.
Kotoko are desperate to make history in African football after clinching the Ghana Premier League 2021/22 title.
The Porcupines were without a major silverware since 2014, however, after clinching their 25th league title this season, Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II has charged the players to do their best to make history in Africa.
“I congratulate you for winning the league title, now, you are going to Africa, I will urge you, the Chief Executive Officer [Nana Yaw Amponsah], the coach, and the players to win Africa because it’s been a while since I laid hands on the title,” he said.
“As a team, you need to remain united to be able to succeed,” Otumfour stated when the team visited him at the Manhyia Palace with the league trophy.
Asante Kotoko will wrap up the season in an away fixture on week 34 at the Accra Sports Stadium with Accra Lions.
