Multiple reports have emerged that the newly-crowned GPL champions Kotoko SC are keenly interested in the signing of Medeama SC defender Vincent Atingah for their African campaign next season.
The Porcupine Warriors will represent Ghana in the upcoming CAF inter-club competition and they are planning to make new signings to beef up their squad for the camp.
The top and the experienced defender has reacted to the rumor claiming the league winners haven’t officially approached him or his management for his service but he is currently concentrating on his stay with Medeama Sporting Club.
Speaking to Original Tv’s Sports Punch, he stated; “I saw it on Social Media, am a professional player and no one has approached me. I can’t tell now whether I will play in Africa or not. For now, I’ve not taken any decision because being on the national team so I can’t tell now. Well, for that aspect when we get to the bridge we will cross it. For now, I don’t want any external issues. I want to finalize with Medeama before.”
The highly-rated defender 2017 left Hearts of Oak to join Albanian giants KF Tirana.
After impressing in the league, he attracted interest from a host of clubs and subsequently joined Kuwait’s top-flight club Al Qadsia.
Vincent Atinga, 28, last played for Al-Shabab in Kuwait before returning to Ghana last year to join Medeama SC.
The former Hearts of Oak central defender is currently rated as one of the best-performing players in the Ghana Premier League.
