Former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Hon. Kwabena Agyapong has vowed to support the Porcupine Warriors for their African campaign.
Asante Kotoko will represent the country in the CAF elite division after emerging as the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League champions.
The member of the ruling party commended Asante Kotoko on winning the league, adding that he hopes the team will deliver and qualify for the money zone.
“I followed Kotoko throughout the league season, they did very well. I wish and pray that they will qualify for the group stage (Money Zone) of the CAF Champions League because we have enough talent in Ghana,” Hon. Kwabena Agyapong told OTEC FM
“I’ve planned to reward the team for winning the Ghana Premier League and support them in their Africa Campaign” He added.
Asante Kotoko failed to play in the previous edition of CAF’s inter-club competition after 2020. Their bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak were the only club to emerge from Ghana for the African campaign after winning the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.
In the upcoming campaign champions of the MTN FA Cup, Accra Hearts of Oak will also have the chance to play in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
