The Ghana Football Association Displinary Commitee has fined New Edubiase FC GH3000.00 , the Officials, and the club supporters are warned that any future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment.
New Edubiase FC was charged for breaching Article 33(1)(b) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019. According to the Charge sheet, on or
about the 57th minute of the match between New Edubiase FC and Bekwai Youth Football Academy (BYFA) at the Nana Gyamfi Park, the club president, officials, players, and supporters did chase and assaulted match officials, actions that caused the abrupt end of the match.
In its defence, New Edubiase FC stated that at no point in the match did the President of the Club Abdul Salam Yakubu chase any Match Official. The Club added that its President was rather jubilating towards the technical bench of his team when his team scored only to realize later that the goal had been disallowed.
It was added that some fans rushed into the inner perimeter to protect the Referee after he disallowed the goal.
Per evidence adduced from the Referee’s report and the video recording of the match, New Edubiase FC is found Guilty of the charge by the Committee. The Committee hereby makes the following decisions:
1. Fined Three Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc3,000)
2. New Edubiase FC, its Officials, and the club supporters are warned that any future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment.
