Premier League side Ashantigold SC fully ready to stage a strong campaign for the 2020/2021 continental competition where they have qualified to represent Ghana in the Confederation Cup competition.
The Obuasi based premiership club have affirmed and their readiness for the coming campaign, and as confirmed a budget of $500,000 (GH₵2,897,230) for their participation in the Confederation Cup competition.
Ashantigold and Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League campaign respectively, and have begun preparations behind the scenes to get the teams in shape for the continental assignments. Speaking to ghanasportspage.com, newly appointed Communications Manager of Ashantigold SC, Eric Karikari confirmed the club’s readiness for Africa.
“I will say with emphasis that Ashgold we are ready going to Africa, our budget for Africa is ready and we are ready for Africa”, Karikari confirmed.
The Miners Communications Manager further confirmed that the club has settled on a budget that is good enough for their campaign. The club according to him, has engaged other corporate bodies to come to their aid financially to push them far in the competition.
“Our officials, headed by Dr Kwaku Frimpong, have budgeted $500,000 for Africa. The (Sports) Ministry and Government have their clear policy that they only come in to help you when you’ve played the Africa to certain stage, so for now that we’ve not started and have not reached that stage yet….but we’ve spoken behind the scenes with other corporate institutions and they are also ready to come and help us when the restrictions are lifted and we are allowed to play football again”, he disclosed.
