Bad news for Ghana as Thomas Partey surfers a groin injury

The Arsenal midfielder could miss Ghana’s World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa next week due to a tight groin injury.

Thomas Teye Partey missed Arsenal’s clash against Watford on Sunday due to a ‘tight groin’, as reported by the club.

The Ghanaian international has played a pivotal role in Mikel Arteta’s side this season in the Gunners nine games unbeaten before Watford’s clash.

Partey was a surprise omission from the Gunners squad for Sunday’s Premier League encounter against Watford and was replaced by Ainsley Maitland-Niles in their starting lineup.

Arsenal have announced that the Ghanaian international is absent due to a groin injury which has ruled him out of the Gunners squad before the international break.

Arsenal are currently doing magic with their ten games without a defeat after a lone goal victory over Watford on Sunday.

Ghana will lock horns against Ethiopia and South Africa in the ongoing Qatar 22 World Cup qualifiers.

Partey scored Ghana’s only against Zimbabwe in the previous international break to secure a victory in the second league encounter over the Warriors.

Ghana hopes the player will be fit before their game against the Wallias and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
