The newly formed MTN FA Cup committee will today, Wednesday 27 November, 2019 hold its first ever meeting since its formation to discuss the way forward for the FA Cup competition.
The meeting will be held at the M Plaza hotel in Accra this afternoon with all the seven members expected to be in attendance to kick off their duty for the successful organization of arguably, the most revered competition besides the premier league.
Chairman of the committee, Hon. Wilson Arthur confirmed the meeting in an interview with Fox FM.
“We are expecting to meet this after at the M Plaza [Hotel in Accra]”, Wilson confirmed. He highlighted on the need for the meeting having taken over from the previous planning committee, and hinted on the agenda for today’s meeting.
“When a brand of such magnitude is handed over to you the first thing you have to do is to find out whether there is any debt, maybe the last edition we played there are some teams that have not been paid yet, you need to review those things. You review the sponsorship if it has expired, what is the next thing to do to renew it and the others”, Hon. Arthur revealed.
According to the CEO of Skyy Media Group, they have done numerous feasibility study about new ideas to give the competition a new face moving forward by building on the existing brand and image.
“We will look at what we have on the table today and then we can dream and work out for an action plan with which we can achieve the aim. A lot of interesting ideas have come out and I’m sure other members are also coming with ideas, when we meet we will crystallize all these ideas and come out something that is practical and doable”, he concluded.
