Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak recovered from their 1-0 defeat to the national U-23 side Black Meteors in a friendly by beating lower division side Rock Stars FC in a preseason friendly match on Sunday.
The Phobians beat Rock Stars FC in a friendly match last Sunday at the Swedru stadium after losing to the Black Meteors last Wednesday in a tournament preparatory match at the Accra sports stadium.
Former Asante Kotoko, Ebusa Dwarfs right back Christopher Bonney broke the deadlock when he put the Phobians in front in the 32nd minute after converting from the 12 yard spot. The exchanges produced no further goal as the two sides ended the first half with the lone goal in favour of Hearts of Oak.
Hearts of Oak coach Kim Grant effected four changes at a go after the break, replacing Anthony Quayson with Charles McKarthy, Mitchelle Sarpong with Kwadwo Obeng Jnr., Enoch Adey with Stephen Bonney with Dominic Eshun taking the place of James Sewornu.
New signing striker Bernard Arthur doubled the lead for the Phobians with a sumptuous curling effort in the 63rd minute.
Rock Stars reduced the tally to 2-1 in the 75th minute through a beautifully taken free kick. The match ended with same score after 90 minutes and coach Kim Grant, despite having his side depleted after most of his starters earned national team call ups, managed to bring his side back to winning ways.
Hearts of Oak are preparing in wait for the commencement of the Ghana premier league for the 2019/2020 season.
