The president of Guinea Alpha Condé said the 2019-20 sporting season is over as he announced plans to ease coronavirus lockdown. “The national championship has been cancelled” he said. After several moments of hesitation, the leaders of the Guinean professional football league made the final decision, because of the coronavirus that strikes the whole world, the championship will not come to an end. he stressed.
The league is now cancelled due to the Coronavirus, the national championship will no longer be played this season. The announcement was made yesterday (Wednesday), April 29 . General Manager Mathurin Bangoura motivated this approach by what he calls “the need to protect the players in football and also the sports fraternity is very important. The four clubs that could be qualified in African competitions (2020-2021) are Horoya AC and Wakrayah AC will be playing CAF Champions League whilst AS Kaloum and SAG SAG will be playing CAF Cup.
