PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY: Akosombo Krystal Palace hold Kotoko in a 2-2 friendly game


Asante Kotoko failed to make it two consecutive wins in a row as they drew with a lower-tier side Krystal Palace.
The Porcupines played their second friendly match today in their preparations ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Midfielder Kwame Adom Frimpong registered the first goal in the seventh minute to give Kotoko a good start through Imoro Ibrahim’s perfect corner kick.
Guinea international Naby Keita doubled the lead from the spot on the 30th minute when winger Emmanuel Gyamfi was brought down in the penalty box.
Kotoko made several changes in their squad which gave their opponents the to pull one back against the run of play.

With few minutes to full time, Krystal Palace benefited from a defensive blunder and snatched an equalizer to the dismay of Kotoko coach Konadu.
Kotoko will open their GPL account with a home game against Techiman Eleven Wonders on November 15 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The first team squad includes; Kwame Baah, Christopher Nettey, Ibrahim Imoro, Yussif Mubarik, Ismael Ganiu, Emmanuel Kayekeh, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Naby Keita, Evans Adomako, and Augustine Okrah.
The second team was made up of Razak Abalora, Samuel Frimpong, Patrick Asmah, Habih Mohammed, Yussif Mubarik, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Latif Anabila, Maxwell Baako, Godfred Asiamah, Osman Ibrahim, and William Opoku Mensah.
