By that Shakul joined Flyweight-Sulemanu Tetteh and Samuel Takyi-Featherweight as the three (3) to so far qualified for the Tokyo2020 Olympics Games in Boxing from Ghana, thus equalling the number of boxers sent to the 2012 London Olympics and an improvement over the 2016 Rio Olympics Games held in Brazil.
The Tokyo Olympics Games which was supposed to have been held last July to August 2020 but have to be been rescheduled to July to August 2021 due the of COVID-19 pandemic effects which have affected human gatherings including sporting activities the world over.
Shakul is the Jnr sibling of SAMIR BASTIR & ISSAH BASTIR (now Professional boxers) were both former members of the Black Bombers who were at the Beijing 2008 Olympics Games in China with SAMIR BASTIR as the captain of the Black Bombers and also Participated at the Athens 2004 Olympics Games in Greece.
Shakul is the SWAG Amateur Boxer for 2019 after Winning the only Boxing medal at the Rabat African Games in August,2019 in Casablanca-Morocco.
For the records, the BLACK BOMBERS are the most successful Ghanaian National team at the Olympics Games having won 3 of the 4 Medals that the nation can boast of. Silver-Medal by Clement Ike Quartey Snr in 1960 Rome Olympics Games, Bronze by Eddie Blay Snr at the 1964 Rome Olympics Games, and Prince Amartey with another bronze in the middleweight at the Munich,1972 Olympics Games.
