Asante Kotoko number two Kwame Baah has extended well wishing message to teammate Felix Annan after his injury during the club’s league match against Berekum Chelsea last Sunday.
Annan sustained thigh injury during the latter stages of the game and had to be replaced with Kwame Baah in the 90th minute of the match. Asante Kotoko have confirmed that their number one stopper and skipper “will be out for a few weeks” after scans carried out on him confirmed he suffered a muscle tear in his right thigh.
Despite their stiff competition between the two goalkeepers which has resulted in a shift system in the keeping of the posts, Kwame Baah has expressed his concerns over Annan’s situation and has wished him a speedy recovery, hoping he returns “stronger than before”.
“Get well soon brother. You know I got your back. Come back stronger than before”, Baah wrote on Twitter.
Hopefully, Kwame Baah’s message to Annan will do well to clear the air once and for all on the public perception of existing friction between the two goalkeepers. Annan lost the number one spot to Baah after three matches into the 2019/2020 league season, and has warmed the bench till the start of the 2020/2021 season when coach Maxwell Konadu decided to start him in the club’s first two matches.
Kwame Baah is expected to be a direct beneficiary of Annan’s absence by manning the posts for the Porcupine Warriors. However, whether Annan will have the nod to return to the posts when he returns from injury directly, or will have to justify his inclusion.
