Accra Hearts of Oak have denied reports in some sections of the local media that they have appointed Honourable Vincent Odotei-Sowah as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club.
On Novemeber 19, 2020, Accra Hearts of Oak released a statement to announce that current CEO of the club, Frederick Moore has proceeded “on sick leave and will resume full duties as head of the club’s administration when declared fit to do so”. This was to calm down ongoing rumours that the astute accounting guru had left the club.
Despite the above intervention from the club, the speculations have continuously been persistent, linking former CEO of the club and now a member of Board of Directors, Hon. Odotei-Sowah to the CEO position.
Once again, Accra Hearts of Oak have on Thursday, December 3, released a statement to quash the rumours and asked the numerous fans of the club and the general sporting public to disregard these rumours and continue to support the club as usual. In the said statement, Hearts of Oak further stated that Hon. Odotei-Sowah, member of Parliament for the La Dade Kotopon Constituency in the Greater Accra region, has not expressed interest in taking up that position.
“The management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited wishes to inform the General Public especially the sporting public that Hon. Vincent Sowah-Odotei has not been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the club as has speculated by a section of the media”, the statement read.
The statement also called for calm and continuous support from the fans of the club.
