Tried and tested forward Ahmed Toure has begun training with his new club Medeama Sporting Club for the first time since he officially joined them on January 5 this year.
The former Asante Kotoko, Bechem United striker started training with the Tarkwa based side on Friday as he gets ready satisfy his appetite for the Ghana Premier League (GPL) once more with the third club of his professional career in the Ghanaian top flight.
Toure, 33, completed his move to the Yellow and Mauves early this year after successful registration, but his debut would have to wait since his registration with the Ghana Football Association for the GPL, per regulations, would only be done during the next transfer window.
The prolific Burkinabe forward penned a two-year deal with Medeama Sporting Club that will keep him at the club until 2023. Toure joined coach Samuel Boadu’s side after ending his stay at Guinea top-flight side AS Kaloum in December 2020. He has previously played for Asante Kotoko on three different stints as well as Bechem United in Ghana’s elite division where he has left indelible foot prints for which he is admired by many pundits of followers of the domestic league.
Medeama have been struggling to live up to expectations this season after the departure of striker Prince Opoku Agyemang for South African side Cape Town City FC. The club is currently sitting 10th on the league table with just ten points from eight matches, and the arrival of Toure is expected to bring potency to the attack for the club in the coming months.
