Medeama midfielder, Justice Blay has shared his views on why giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are so far not dominant this 2020/2021 season.
Hearts of Oak are 3rd on the league table with 27 points, four points adrift leaders Karela United, who occupy the summit with 31 points.
Asante Kotoko are, however, 4th in the pegging order with 27 points but with a game in hand.
This follows a run of unstable performances from the two Ghanaian powerhouses, and Justice Blay believes the development is a result of the pluralization of the local transfer market.
“A lot has changed in football now,” says the Medeama kingpin who the Tarkwa-based side have managed to keep despite a stern interest from Asante Kotoko. “Football now is not like it was before. A lot has changed.”Blay told the leading sports site in Ghana (ghanasportspage.com)
“Medeama, Aduana Stars, Olympics and a host of other so-called smaller clubs can now buy players, who hitherto were the preserve of Kotoko and Hearts.”
“It is not like the two sides are missing on the league table. It depends. But the reason is the other clubs are competing with them for the top players and so they have to do more to win games.” He advised.
