Ashanti Gold SC main-man in midfield, Appiah McCarthy has set sight on hitting full fitness before making an injury return.
The playermaker pulled strings for the Miners in the early stages of the just ended Ghana Premier League season before unfortunately injuring his knee in matchday 10 encounter against Legon Cities.
The midfield gem was then ruled out of the season and has been on the sideline since.
Speaking with Kessben FM, the former Asokwa Deportivo man admitted he can’t wait to be back but wants to be fully fit first.
“Yeah it’s true but what matters most is my health. Because if I am not fit I can’t play. So am praying I will be back stronger.”
McCarthy added that his rehabilitation is going on smoothly but he is not certain about his return to action.
“I have started rehabilitation after my surgery. It’s been about two months now since I started the rehabilitation and by God’s grace I am working bit by bit. It was a knee injury and by grace everything is good.
“I cannot be emphatic about my return right now because I have a physical trainer I am working with currently. If he thinks am ready to return I don’t have any choice.”
