Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko SC, Dr Kwame Kyei has reportedly acquired a 100 percent stake of a division side in the Ashanti Region.
The business mogul is now a club owner as he has purchased Bekwai Youth Football Academy(BYFA) after serving Kotoko for a long while to gain experience in football administration.
Asantehene, Otomfour Osei Tutu II appointed the Unity Group of Companies owner four years ago to head Kotoko as the Chief Executive Officer for a period of three years.
After exhausting his term, his Royal Majesty appointed a new board to run the faires of the club with Kwame Kyei as the Executive Board Chairman, a position he has held since last year.
Following growing interest in football over the years, the renowned entrepreneur has bought all stakes of BYFA to run the club as sole owner, a report by Pure FM says so.
According to the Kumasi based FM station, Kwame Kyei paid an amount of GHC 200,000 for the shares and has thus set up board members of the club immediately, which include his sons, Divine and Nana Boadu.
BYFA are in Zone two of the National Division One. The club secured promotion into the countries second-tier league in 2017 and are yet to qualify for the Ghanaian top-flight since.
