Former Medeama Sporting Club striker, Prince Opoku Agyemang has opened his goal account for Bibiani Gold Stars against Ashantigold Sporting Club in the Ghana Premier League match week 17 fixture at the Obuasi Len Clay sports stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Stars B striker joined the Miners of Bibiani in January this year in the second transfer window as coach Michael Osei’s side seek to bolster the attack of Gold Stars to propel them remain in the Ghanaian top flight after the club made their debut in the ongoing 2021/2022 GPL season. Prince Opoku Agyemang became the number one target for coach Michael Osei, and Bibiani Gold Stars did everything possible to beat competition from Accra Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities FC to win the signature of the former New Eubiase United captain.
Opoku Agyemang, 29, was named on the bench in Bibiani Gold Stars line up in their 1-0 win against Aduana Stars last week Sunday. New signing Steven Owusu scored from the spot kick to win the day for the Dun’s Park side while Opoku Agyemang watched on from the bench, having to wait for his debut for the Miners.
Coach Michael Osei handed Opoku Agyemang a starting role away from home against Ashantigold SC this afternoon at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium, and the goal poacher made his presence known, scoring an 80th minute equalizer to hand Gold Stars a 2-2 draw against the Miners of Obuasi.
Emmanuel Appau scored a leveler for Gold Stars after Yaw Annor had given the home side the lead following a penalty miss by Gold Stars striker Steven Owusu. Frank Akoto score in the 66th minute to restore the lead for Ashgold, but Prince Opoku pounced in the 80th minute to restore parity, winning a point for Gold Stars.
Bibiani Gold Stars currently sit 13th in the 18-team league table with 20 points from 17 matches.
