The two sworn adversaries will battle it out on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium when they clash in the President Cup game organized by GHALCA in aid to honor the President of the land.
To rally around the rainbow for the clash, captain Fatawu Mohammed has confidently divulged the mindset in camp towards the epic encounter.
The Rainbows captain believes matches between his side and Asante Kotoko are about character and not about form.
In an interview ahead of the President’s Cup with Fatawu Mohammed on Kumasi-based Wontumi Tv, he explained; “As you know, day in day out we are preparing for any game that comes in our way. So far as the GPL and other games are concerned we have solid preparations and we are willing to play any game. He stated.
Asked if the team is under pressure ahead of the game, he said,
“We are not under any pressure ahead of the game because Hearts and Kotoko games are not about form but the character and the effort.
“Form doesn’t count in that game or the place on the table. That one is a different thing altogether so we as a player, know that it is a different game. We played out a goalless stalemate in our first meeting this season but for this game, it will be tough because they have prepared well and we have also prepared well for them.
“The determinations for the two sides will be high for the game so it will be tough tomorrow but hardworking and determination will bring glory to us.” He ended.
Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw last week when the two sides met for the first time in the ongoing GPL season at the same venue but definitely, a penalty will decide the winner on Friday if no goal is scored in the entire minutes of the President Cup.
On the GPL table, the title holders are thrilling Asante Kotoko with 14 points whiles the Porcupines have occupied the first position with 40 points after 18 games.
