Premier league giants Aduana Stars are set to lose their influential midfielder Prince Acquah in the summer after failing to renew his expired contract.
The former Asante Kotoko midfielder joined Aduana Stars in April 2020 after his contract ran out at the Porcupine Warriors, and has been an integral member of the Aduana Stars squad for the past two seasons.
Acquah’s contract with the Dormaa based club expired on April 13, 2022, and has since not featured for the club in any match. He missed the FA Cup quarter final match against King Faisal at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, as well as the league match against Ashanti Gold SC due to the expiration of his contract with the club.
We gather, that the club wanted the player to extend his contract till the end of the ongoing 2021/2022 league season, but the player wanted a longer period which the club has been foot-dragging to grant. The player has since left the camp of the club to his residence in Sekondi Takoradi, and may only return to the negotiation table when the club gets ready to meet his demands.
The 26-year old former Kpando Hearts of Lions star spent three seasons at Asante Kotoko between 2017 and 2020, where he won the 2019 GFA Normalization Committee Competition with the club.
