Report reaching Ghanasportspage.com has it that Rashid Nortey is presently not happy with his treatment at Medeama Sporting Club as the midfielder has struggled for game time this season.
The 27-year-old has had just one start this season and 45 overall since the start of the season. Nortey has also failed to make the match squad three times. His only appearance of the season came as he played just 45 minutes in their game against Aduana Stars.
He was dropped from their match squad against Bibiani Gold Stars on Thursday.
Sources have told Ghanasportspage.com the midfielder’s failure to have a playing time this season comes after he had turned down contract extension talks with the Mauve and Yellows.
His contract with the GPL side will be expired on January 12, 2023 and he has opted to leave the club for a new challenge. Meanwhile, the President of the Tarkwa-based side, Moses Parker wants the player to stay.
Nortey has not indicated where he would want to go, though he has stated earlier that he would love to play outside the country.
Since joining the Yellow and Mauves in 2017, the 27-year-old has been outstanding.
His scintillating performance earned him a call up to the Ghana A’ national football team ahead of friendly match against Uzbekistan national team last year.
He made his debut for Ghana national football team on 8 June 2021 in a friendly against Morocco. He substituted Emmanuel Lomotey in the added time of the 0–1 away loss.
