Hearts of Oak transfer news has been in overdrive in recent times, with four players making headlines in the sports fraternity.
Following Afriyie Barnieh’s contract situation with the club, the Phobians aren’t messing around. They are already focused on the upcoming transfer window for his possible replacement.
The Rainbows are eager to refresh and strengthen their expensively assembled squad in January as they aim to win the league title.
Barnieh is expected to leave the club when his contract expires after the year.
The 21-year-old has looked closer than ever to an exit following reports that he has turned down a new contract offer from the club.
He has offers from across Europe and the Gulf, but it is believed he prefers a switch to the Norwegian Premier League, it has been claimed.
Afriyie Barnieh has been the poster boy of the Phobians for the past two seasons, earning him a call-up to the country’s national teams from the Under-20, Olympic team, Black Galaxies, and the Black Stars.
Despite not featuring for the Black Stars as Ghana exited the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the group stage, the forward has received multiple offers from several stellar clubs in Europe.
However, the Phobians have already identified ex-Ghana Premier League top-scorer, Diawisie Taylor as Barnieh’s possible replacement.
The GPL giants are in talks to bring back the prolific attacker into the league early next year.
Taylor has struggled to establish himself since leaving the shores of Ghana to join the Egyptian side, Future FC after winning the GPL goal king race.
But the Phobians believe the ex-Karela United star, who has since been farmed out on loan to the Sudanese side, Al Merreikh could get back to his olden days when he returns to the domestic.
Taylor scored 18 goals to finish as the top scorer during the 2020/21 season, having won the same in the Division One League and the Normalisation Committee special competition in 2019.
However, Samuel Abbey Quaye of Accra Great Olympics is also among the targets of the Rainbows.
Abbey Quaye, after making his debut for the Wonder Club has been a livewire for the two times Ghana Premier League champions. In the past two seasons.
He was linked to the Rainbows in August but the club debunked the story.
Currently, Ghanasportspage.com can confirm Hearts of Oak has opened talks to sign the highly-rated attacker in the next transfer window to beef up their team for the rest of the season.
Following his impressive league campaign, there was massive interest from European clubs and it was expected that he would switch from the Olympics to Europe but his trials with the Switzerland side, FC Basel, were unsuccessful having failed to secure a deal.
Nonetheless, that did not deter Quaye as he continued to work hard and deliver a top-notch performance each week in the 2020/21 season which earned him a place in the Black Satellites team.
His contribution to the national Under-20 side was invaluable in helping the team win the 2021 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations when they beat Uganda 2-0 in the final of the competition in Mauritania.
Abbey Quaye is said to have been in contact with the club for weeks and he could join them on a two-year deal in January.
To wrap up, Hearts of Oak midfielder, Gladson Awako has been linked to join Cincinnati on loan.
Following the departure of Salim Adams to the American side, the Rainbows revealed their intentions to ship some of their players to their new partners.
And as part of exchanging program and benefits officials, Gladson Awako could leave to join Salim Adams in January per the report.
