Accra Hearts of Oak host Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium this evening in the second Super Clash of the season.
The game dubbed the ‘Super Clash’ comes with an extra package – the President Cup and GHS 50,000 cash reward. The Ghana Premier League week 20 fixture as announced will double as the President’s Cup Match, which is organized yearly by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to honour the President of the Republic as part of the Independence Day celebrations
The two rivals played out a 1-1 draw in their first leg on week 3 of the season at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak come into this game off the back of a two straight defeats – the lost 2-0 to Aduana Stars and 1-0 to Great Olympics.
For Kotoko, their confidence level is high after beating Bechem United to get back to winning ways on Wednesday following their 1-0 defeat to Aduana in the MTN FA Cup.
Today’s game is expected to be a keenly contested match with a lot of dignitaries including President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, in attendance.
Hearts of Oak are sixth on the league table with 28 points while Kotoko sit second with 31 points – five points behind leaders, Aduana Stars.
Kotoko lost 2-1 to the Rainbows in last year’s President’s Cup clash.
Both sides are well motivated but the Porcupine Warriors look as the favorites for ahead of today’s duel.
Hearts of Oak vs Asante Kotoko is scheduled for 6:00pm kick-off at the Accra Sports Stadium.

For Hearts of Oak, Samuel Inkoom, Caleb Amankwaa and Ibrahim Salifu are back but Gladson Awako and Kwadwo Obeng Junior aren’t ready yet.
They will enter the game with the likes of Oak Enoch Asuboteng, Dennis Korsah, Albert Diego Dieudonne Linda Mtange, Eric Esso, Richmond Ayi, Konadu Yiadom and others.
For Kotoko, Yusif Mubarik has returned to training but the game has come too early for him.
Maxwell Agyemang, Rashid Nortey and Isaac Oppong are still on the injury list.
Steven Mukwala, Georges Mfegue, Danlad Ibrahim, Enock Morrison, Richmond Lamptey, Richard Boadu and others are ready for today’s game.
