According to Kumasi-based Wontumi TV, Accra Hearts of Oak is one step away from appointing an unamed tactician from Finland to take over their vacant coaching role.
The information indicates the Rainbows have held talks with the Finnish tactician in their ongoing search for a permanent successor to Slavko Matic.
The unamed tactician in particular is believed to have worked in Spain, according to what Wontumi TV reported.
The Phobians have been on the lookout for a new boss ahead of the 2023/24 campaign after Slavko Matic’s departure in March.
The club saw three different coaches complete a single season where they narrowly escaped relegation and are still in the market for a long-term replacement.
After parting ways with Samuel Boadu, Slavko Matic took over but saw his position taken by David Ocloo on an interim basis, allowing the club the time to find a permanent manager in time for the next campaign.
Former Asante Kotoko trainer, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and newly-appointed Great Olympics boss, Annor Walker were the main candidates for the job. However, the GPL giants failed to agree terms with either of them and had to turn to another option.
