James Kwesi Appiah has responded to reports linking him with a move to Sudan to become their national team manager and he did this in an exclusive chat with Ghana’s most authoritative sports website Ghanasportspage.com.
As Ghanasportspage.com exclusively reported earlier on Wednesday , Appiah has NOT signed a contract to become Sudan national team boss even though negotiations are taking place.
Kwesi Appiah , 63 , has not gone for any top coaching job since his last employment as Ghana head coach in 2020 and is currently serving as a member of the interim management committee of Asante Kotoko.
“There are currently talks with them (Sudan FA) but I am waiting for the approval and release of Otumfour Osei Tuu II” , James Kwesi Appiah told Ghanasportspage.com on Wednesday.
Meanwhile we understand the coach who led Ghana to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil , is indeed interested in the Sudan job and once he receives the blessing of the Asantehene , he will conclude talks with the Sudan FA and officially sign a contract.
Appiah is one of the most respected Ghanaian coaches in Africa and having worked with Al Khartoum in the past , the Sudan national team job seems appealing for both parties.
