The defending league champions were held at home by Accra Lions at the Akoon Park on Wednesday September 20th in their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League opening match.
Lions opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Samuel Gyasi before former WAFA attacker Daniel Lomotey equalized for the home team in the second half.
Accra Lions restored their lead in the 80th minute and once again Medeama equalized this time thanks to Ghana striker Jonathan Sowah as the spoils were shared.
