Asante Kotoko is set to resume training ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League 2023/24 season today. Monday, January 22, 2024.
The Porcupine Warriors boys and technical team will report for medical examination this morning. Meanwhile, the team will begin the presentation without the head coach of the Reds, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum is in Ivory Coast as a technical scout for the Black Stars of Ghana, and assistant captain Richmond Lamptey who is also part of Ghana’s 27-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Youngsters Peter Acquah Amidu and Shadrack Addo will join Ghana Under 20 squad at the Ghanaman Sports Complex in Prampram for training ahead of the All African games which will be held in Ghana in June.
Ahead of the second round, Asante Kotoko made two signings, Nsoatreman FC right-back Emmanuel Kotei and former striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu will joined the team as they start training today.
Asante Kotoko finished third in the first round of the GPL with 29 points in 17 matches. The ‘Reds’ scored eighteen goals and conceded twelve goals. Kotoko finished the first round as the team with the most away wins with four away wins and are also in round 16 of the MTN FA Cup after eliminating Bibiani Gold Stars in round 32 stage at the Dun’s Park by Peter Acquah Amidu’s beautiful strike.
The second round of the Ghana Premier League 2023/24 season will resume after the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which is currently ongoing in Ivory Coast.
Asante Kotoko will travel to Volta Region to battle with Kpando Hearts of Lions at the Hohoe Sports Stadium for match Day 18.
