A legend of Asante Kotoko, Wilberforce Mfum wants the players of Kotoko to be beaten by their fans for what he described as a way that will make them uplift their performance.
The 87- year-old says the recent results of the club is unacceptable for supporters to bear.
The Porcupine Warriors failed to win four of their last league game in the second round of the 2023/24 season.
Mfum speaking to Akoma FM in an interview advised the players to be dedicated to the Kotoko jersey.
“The only advice I have for the players is that before wearing Kotoko’s jersey, they must be dedicated and have the team at heart, always play for the team with full commitment, and not with lazy attitude”.
He, however, believes that the fans should have beaten the players for losing those four games.
“I think the players have never been beaten before. They should have been beaten by the fans after losing streak, so they understood their worth. How can you be bought with large sum of money and then given such a poor performance? He quizzed.
Asante Kotoko is ten points behind the leaders of the league. They face Bechem Utd in their next Ghana premier league fixture at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour park in Bechem.
