Asante Kotoko striker, Steven Mukwala, attributes the team’s recent resurgence to the inspirational words of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club’s life patron.
Following a challenging start in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, a meeting convened by the King in April with the technical staff and players served as a turning point.
Since then, the Porcupine Warriors have clinched three wins and a draw in their last four matches.
Mukwala emphasized the profound impact of the monarch’s wisdom, stating, “The motivation and words of wisdom from the King have motivated us a lot. It was a way of reminding everyone how big Asante Kotoko is. That’s the motivation we have right now.”
With a recent 2-0 victory over Legon Cities, Asante Kotoko currently occupies the 10th position on the league table with 40 points.
Their next challenge awaits as they travel to face Berekum Chelsea in the upcoming Matchday 30 fixture at the Golden City Park this weekend.
