Kassim Ocansey Mingle, the head coach of Nations FC, attributed his team’s defeat to Hearts of Oak to a lapse in concentration during the early stages of the game.
The match, part of Ghana Premier League matchweek 32, saw the Phobians hosting the Abrankese-based side at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
Hearts took an early lead, with Kassim Cisse scoring in the 10th minute, assisted by Dennis Korsah, followed by Hamza Issah doubling the advantage in the 15th minute.
Despite making multiple substitutions and attempting to regain midfield control, Nations FC struggled to break through Hearts’ solid defense.
In a post-match interview with StarTimes, Kassim Mingle lamented the loss, acknowledging the two quick goals conceded by his team.
“It’s unfortunate we lost. We conceded two quick goals which were unpardonable goals but what can we do, it’s football, it happens in the game. After we conceded the goals then my boys started playing,” he stated.
“They lost concentration when we started, that’s why we conceded two quick goals, but after that they woke up and started playing. Unfortunately, we couldn’t equalize the goals so that’s football.”
Hearts of Oak will face Accra Great Olympics next, while Nations FC is set to play Bechem United.
