After a historic 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League campaign, FC Samartex 1996 has made a clean sweep in former Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics player, Laryea Kingston’s Team of the Season list.
The Samreboi-based club won the league title with 61 points, finishing a whopping 10 points ahead of second-placed Accra Lions.
The impressive campaign saw three Samartex players named in the Ghana Premier League Best XI, with head coach Nurudeen Amadu also named as the manager of the group. Midfielder and captain Emmanuel Keyekeh, winger Evans Osei Wusu, and goalkeeper Kofi Baah made the cut, with Keyekeh earning the Home-Based Player of the Year Award at the Ghana Football Awards.
The list also includes Berekum Chelsea’s striker Stephen Amankona, who topped the goal scorers chart with 19 goals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Steven Dese Mukwala, and Nsoatreman FC midfielder Abdul Umar Manaf, who won the MTN FA Cup with his team via a penalty shootout win over Bono rival Bofoakwa Tano.
Defender Razak Simpson of Nations FC was named captain of the GPL Best XI.
