In the space of a 48 hours, the prolific attacker first appeared to be on the verge of a move to Accra Hearts of Oak, only for 2022/23 Ghanaian champions Medeama SC to step in and capture his signature.

Kumi bagged nine goals for Kotoku Royals during the 2022/23 season before joining Serbian side FK Radniki Nis.
