Asante Kotoko is on the verge of constituting a new board and management team for the upcoming season as part of the Club Licensing Board requirements.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of the club, set to appoint Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua as the new Executive Board Chairman.
The appointment is expected to be announced in the coming days, pending any last-minute changes.
Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, who has been serving as the Chairman of the IMC, has been highly impressed with his performance by the Asantehene, leading to his expected promotion to the top seat.
The Interim Management Committee (IMC), led by Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, has been managing the team since the dissolution of the Dr Kwame Kyei-led board.
Under his leadership, the IMC has had a strong technical director in Kwesi Appiah, head coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Emmanuel Dasoberi, who recently left to join CAF.
With his appointment as Executive Board Chairman, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua will be joined by other prominent individuals, including Tema-based businessman Alhaji Abu Lamin and Lawyer Kwamina Mensah, who served as a board secretary under the Dr Kwame Kyei-led board.
The new board is expected to bring stability and continuity to the club.
