Six senior players of the Black Stars including captain Jordan Ayew have withdrawn from Ghana’s upcoming Cup tournament in Japan.
Almost half of the players initially expected to partake in Ghana’s upcoming tournament has been ruled out due to series of injuries. Captain of Black Stars Jordan Ayew with deputy skipper Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Fatawu Issahaku, Mohammed Kudus and Joseph Paintsil have all withdrawn from the squad due to recent injuries.
Their absence will now give option to head coach Otto Addo to resort to new faces for the upcoming assignment.
Call-ups have being handed to new faces including Prince Owusu (CF Montreal), Kelvin Nkrumah (Medeama), and Czech-based striker Prince Kwabena Adu.
Ghana will face Japan in the Kirin Challenge Cup on Friday, November 14, at Toyota Stadium in Aichi, before taking on South Korea on Tuesday, November 18.
