Asante Kotoko SC are in negotiations with Ghanaian trainer Maxwell Konadu for a return to the club after Abdul Karim Zito and Prince Owusu’s exit.
Konadu has been linked with a sensational third return, following technical bankruptcy at the club in recent times. Talks ongoing for return to the club he’s managed twice in his coaching career, source at Kotoko disclosed to Ghanasportspage.com .
The three member board of Asante Kotoko SC are contemplating on two managers, to agree terms with before 2026/27 season. According to the source, Kotoko is torn between appointing an expatriate coach or Maxwell Konadu – the only preferred local based gaffer.
Reports suggest Konadu, currently with Ghana U-20 men’s team, is keen on a return to the Ghana Premier league record holder’s (25) viewing it as his true home in football.
Asante Kotoko SC interest to appoint a new manager comes amidst a period of upheaval in the club’s management, following abysmal performance of Abdul Karim Zito who begun the 2025/26 league season but was forced to resign mid way due to poor results, with same fate fallen Coach Prince Owusu.
